The felineStudio color calculator analyses 11 genetic loci — from Agouti (A) to Inhibitor (I) — and computes all possible offspring phenotypes according to the EMS standard (Easy Mind System) defined by FIFe. The result shows you the exact probability percentage for every possible coat color combination.
The EMS system encodes coat color, pattern, white-spotting, and pointing in a unified notation. Each EMS code — for example MCO ns 22 for Black Silver Classic Tabby — unambiguously describes the phenotypic expression of an animal. The calculator supports all FIFe-recognized breeds and color variants.
Professional breeders use the color calculator to identify carrier animals for recessive alleles (chocolate, dilution, colourpoint), avoid unwanted color combinations, and strategically plan breeding goals. With registered access you can additionally use the full genotype editor to manually enter known alleles for more precise predictions.
